Cross-project multi-level hierarchy
An issue may have sub-issues, which, in turn, may have sub-issues of their own.
Sub-issues are not limited to the parent issue's project, and they may be of any issue type
(subject to permissions and configuration).
|
Fast editing with keyboard shortcuts
Structure Board, the main view provided by the plug-in, shows issues as a multi-level grid.
Using its dynamic interface and keyboard shortcuts,
you can easily arrange issues in a hierarchy
or create new issues on the spot.

Time and progress
Completion progress, time worked and estimates are calculated with respect to sub-issues.

The final Structure 1.0 Release is out!
We have created a thorough documentation set and added several improvements and bug-fixes to this release. Details are available in the Release Notes.
This concludes more than a year of initial product development and we are happy to already have customers eager for more features to come.
I would like to extend my personal thanks to everyone who have supported or criticized Structure and the ideas behind it, and of course to everyone who have tried to use it, successfully or not — your existence and all of your feedback let us stay on course and deliver. We'll grow our project team and continue developing the product further to bring as much additional value to JIRA as we can.
Cheers!
Igor
We're very glad to deliver the first release candidate of Structure 1.0.
This version introduces GreenHopper synchronization: sync GreenHopper Rank and Epic/Theme with the Structure. For details, please see the demo.
Also in this version: real-time update of the displayed fields (data on the structure board will be automatically updated soon after an issue has been edited), automatic switch to the default structure for the new users, bug fixes.
This is the first non-Beta version, so you will need a license key to run it, unless you're running a Demonstration or Free JIRA license from Atlassian. To get an evaluation license, go to Administration | Structure | License Details and click "Get Evaluation License".

Structure version 0.5 is released. The version includes several important fixes, including the fix for a bug that caused Structure widget break down when combined with some other plugin that uses Prototype.js library.
Version 0.5 also adds Printable page, which you can open by clicking on the Printer button on the Structure control panel. (Walkthrough on Youtube)

Version 0.4 is released. We've gone a long way to re-think the whole idea and provide you a more integral and versatile solution. This version highlights:
- Named structures - now the structures have names, owners and permissions. And yes, there may be more than one structure. This makes JIRA with Structure a great tool for anything, from a personal todo list to a shared project plan.
- Synchronizers are a way to integrate structure with the rest of the world. In this version, you can synchronize structure with links, sub-tasks and filters. For example, you can have a structure that always contains all open issues from a project. GreenHopper synchronizer is coming next.
- Searching and adding issues to structure is now done differently, through an instant search panel with drag-and-drop, structure filtering and more keyboard shortcuts.
JIRA 4.0 is no longer supported. Due to Atlassian's fast release pace and considerable overhead imposed by supporting every minor release of JIRA, we will generally support three last releases. So this version works well with JIRA 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. Please contact us if you need Structure for JIRA 4.0 - we still can try building a backport for you, but no guarantees.
Sale! With this release, we start sales with a time-limited 50% pre-order discount. The offer will end with the official version 1.0 release. If you are already using Structure or plan to start, now is the good time to get the license at half the price.
Upgrade Notes: Before upgrading, please back up structure from the Administrator interface (menu Backup Hierarchy). The upgrade should be seamless, but the Structure's database will be upgraded without turning back. Should you need to downgrade, you'll need to restore Structure from backup.
Thanks a lot to everyone who has contributed opinion and feedback on the previous versions! Looking forward to your thoughts on this one.

Bugfix version 0.3 is released. We've fixed several annoying problems found in 0.2 (thanks to everyone sending us bug reports!), while we're going full speed to the next feature release, 0.4.
Plugin pricing is announced on Plugin Exchange. We will start accepting pre-orders at discounted prices soon - subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed!

Version 0.2 of the plugin is delivered.
We've added drag-and-drop, searching for issues from the Structure widget, more keyboard shortcuts (with a cheat sheet) and numerous improvements. For the Administrator, we've added importing existing issues and sub-tasks into the Structure.
The plugin is still in Beta stage. However, it does not affect the standard JIRA functionality in any way, so feel free to download it and try on your non-critical projects.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Igor
We've opened version 0.1 of the Structure plugin to public preview.
It already can be used as a replacement for subtasks, without subtask problems. But it's more than multi-level subtasks! The structure widget mixes in features from the Issue Navigator with our own structure editor to give you an interactive interface to editing and rearranging issues.
